“The Victorian architecture certainly makes a striking first impression, and many rooms take full advantage of the seaside location with views over Torbay. I noted that the in-house spa uses Sea Magik treatments and there are multiple dining options, including the 1881 Restaurant. The Grand Hotel enjoys a superb location, practically next to Torquay station and just across from the beach, making it ideal for those travelling without a car, plus bus stops are conveniently located in front. Guests often appreciate the spacious rooms, some offering lovely sea views, along with amenities like tea and coffee making facilities. The swimming pools are a highlight, with both indoor and outdoor options being heated; the terrace overlooking the sea and pools is a particular favorite. While some guests have noted that rooms can appear tired and dated, many find the hotel a good value.

The location was great.. right next to the train station.
The rooms need a complete refurbishment. The toilet and sinks were low and very dated. The room decor was a mixture of eras. Nothing matched.
